When you’re pregnant you body is in a building phase, you typically have tons of people around celebrating and checking in on your progress. Your support builds and your checkups increase as you get closer and closer to delivering your baby.
Once baby is born there’s an empty space literally in your womb and eventually, after meeting the baby we may not have a ton of support from family and friends creating an empty space in our sense of community. This can feel overwhelming and isolating and we become vulnerable to strong feelings like anxiety, loss, grief and depression. A new mother is already doing all she can for her baby.
Ashley hopes to change the expectation that moms can do it all and instead family, friends and providers are stepping in to do all they can for moms. Ashley also offers birth doula services and accepts Medicaid.

Kristen began practicing yoga in 2006 and has facilitated yoga classes since 2014, first in Metro-Detroit and now in Leelanau and Traverse City regions. With training and certifications in oncology yoga, mindfulness meditation, breathwork, and Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) coupled with decades-long professional experience in the fields of trauma, mental health, and resilience, Kristen specializes in supporting those who have experienced events that may impact embodiment, nervous system regulation, and connection to self and others.
Kristen facilitates choice-based, regulation-focused yoga that creates a felt sense of belonging in community and pairs mindful movement with breathwork, setting the stage for nourishing, restorative rest. Kristen offers general wellness, oncology, and trauma-sensitive yoga and has first-hand knowledge regarding the physical and emotional impact cancer can have on survivors and their support network, thus creating a space of compassionate support via yoga and mindfulness meditation during all stages of cancer survivorship. TCTSY is an evidence-based adjunct treatment for complex trauma that focuses on giving participants an opportunity to practice choice-based movement that does not include physical assists.
Kristen wholeheartedly believes in the healing nature of choice-based, sensory-led movement paired with deep rest and actively works to breakdown the sometimes unaddressed notion of power dynamics in yoga. We walk together; Kristen's role is to offer knowledge, support, guide when needed, and most importantly, to listen.
Kay was first drawn to yoga, like many of us, through the physical practice of asana. The yoga postures themselves served as a gateway to the deeper practices of yoga, where she later noticed how the physical practice offered mental and energetic benefits as well. As a busy mother of four, yoga brought a sense of peace and calm that no other practice had done for her before.
With four children and 12 grandchildren, Kay’s devotion to her yoga mat soon sparked an idea: yoga can be a practice for all ages. And that’s when her mission to offer yoga to kids and adolescents began. Kay has completed several yoga teacher trainings, including her RYT-200, RCYT, and varying courses specializing in all aspects of child and adolescent practices. In 2019, Kay opened a studio space called Just Bee Yoga + Well-being that was devoted to kids’ yoga, from babies all the way up to teens. That studio, in partnership with her daughter, Hilary, has since flourished into a full-blown yoga studio, Dharamsala TC, that offers kids yoga, adult yoga, trapeze yoga, yoga teacher trainings, and specialty workshops and events. In 2022, Kay and Hilary expanded Dharamsala TC into a second location in the heart of downtown Traverse City, Michigan.

Ashley is an Ayurdoula- a doula specializing in Ayurvedic postpartum care. She’s passionate about Ayurvedic postpartum nutrition and delivers curated meals specifically for healing and teaches prenatal education for postpartum preparation.
